Know Your Enemy

Temptations are real.

You may hate to mention it. You may hide it under the bed. But you can't deny the fact that it almost always exists in our Christian journey. Let's face it. It's there.

There is a chinese saying:
Know yourself, know your enemy; hundred battles hundred victories

We better face the fact that it is there, so that we will not be deceived by its beautiful outlook. Know the truth and the truth shall set us free from deception and defeat.

Temptations are custom-designed, taylor-made to meet your needs.

The devil knows your appetite. He has been studying you since the day you were born. So He will not lure you with something that is not appealing to you. He will try his very best to meet you needs, by you giving in to the flesh because flesh will give birth to sin. That is his plot and his ultimate purpose - That sin will rob away your relationship with God.

You may feel the short term pleasure of sin. But the side effect is you lose your peace of God in your heart.

Sin takes you further than you want to go, keeps you longer than you want to stay, costs you more than you want to pay.

But the good news is God wants to meet your needs too. They are real needs. But God's way is not by the flesh but the Spirit. Satisfaction in the Holy Spirit is inside out, not outside in. It is an outflowing of peace and joy, not a quenching to the bottomless thirst.

The devil offers you a speedy weight loss plan that will cost your own life. God offers you a healthy body that works out, eats healthy, blesses others.

God can turn the temptation to a training that makes you stronger spiritually.

Real needs. Two choices to meet the needs - Temptation or Training.
What will you choose today?

Just do what you did at the start

Many people would perceive prayer as a duty, a routine... something to endure. That's how prayers have not been enjoyed...

Are you kidding me? You actually enjoy praying?

Well, I enjoy when I have the right understanding on prayers. I don't when I have the wrong perception.

Prayer is communication with God. You are speaking something to God and you can be 100% sure that He understands more than what you words could describe, even when you use the wrong words, He knows your heart.

Prayer transfers your burden to God. Can you imagine no matter what problems and situations you are in currently, they are none of your business after you pray. They are God's. Though you may still need to face them, but you actually have a coach alongside. He will make sure it is not a problem to you, but a training to you that will make you stronger. Everything is in control, just enjoy the adventure where victory is a guarantee.

Prayer makes the impossible possible. If you ever need a miracle, don't just hope for it. Pray about it.Prayer gives you the ability to believe that all things are possible. Many Christians may know that all things are possible yet do not believe it. If you find it hard to believe, just pray. Prayer will stretch your faith because it connects you to the supernatural.

We received salvation through a prayer of confession to God. That's how we started our faith journey. That should also be how you continue on in this journey - pray without ceasing. Prayer humbles us to receive the grace of God daily in our lives. It gives us God perspective and wisdom. Let's journey on with God.... Praying!
